  17.    Golf Guru will run quite happily on hard disk. Users will have to copy
  18. files to your hard disk and add assign statements to your startup sequence.

  20. The main volume name that Golf Guru uses is Golf_Vol:

  24.  For less experienced users - the assign statement is used to allow a
  25. volume name to be given a destination. For instance, Golf Guru recognizes
  26. the volume name Golf_Vol:. To tell your computer where to look for files
  27. and where to save data you should add an assign statement to your startup
  28. sequence or user startup sequence.

  30. On my Amiga I store all my golf data in my work: partition and in a
  31. directory called Golf_Data. My assign statement looks like this :-

  33.         Assign  "Golf_Vol:" "Work:Golf_Data"

  37. The following files will HAVE to be copied to your specified hard disk
  38. partition and directory :-
  39.  
  40.         1) Arrays.GGG
  41.  
  42.         2) Bobs.abk
  43.  
  44.         3) All iff files on the supplied disk (Example Course)
  45.  
  46.         4) The Example Golf Course file
  47.  
  48.         5) Golf_Data.EXA (example data)

  50. The programs and document files will sit happily anywhere on your hard
  51. disk. The text reader ppmore should be copied to the c directory of your
  52. boot-up partition.

  54.    Golf Guru will also recognise four other volume names. These can be
  55. used to store separate golf data files. To change volume names press
  56. Function Keys 1 to 5 WHILST in the main title page. F1 is the default
  57. volume name "Golf_Vol:", F2 to F5 are volume names "Golf_Vol2:" to
  58. "Golf_Vol5:". If you want to utilise these volume names then the
  59. appropriate assign statements should be added to your startup sequence.

  61. Note that your hole Iff files and course files must be in the default
  62. volume name "Golf_Vol:".
